Diana on Thirty Good Minutes

This weekend on State of Belief, a look at what gets left out in the traditional telling of the history of Christianity. Plus, a lawsuit in Texas pits a kindergarten student's religious freedom against a school's zero tolerance policy. And, Welton shares some thoughts on the passing of Walter Cronkite.
This past week marked the one year anniversary of the tragic shooting at an Unitarian church in Tennessee. Reverend Chris Buice, minister of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, speaks with Welton about his community's response to the hate crime that killed two of his congregation and wounded six more.
Welton talks with Interfaith Alliance's William Blake about a lawsuit brought by the parents of a Native American child who was told his long hair violated his school's dress code policy. The parents say cutting their child's hair violates their religious beliefs. Get our prediction about how the court will rule.
Plus, religion writer and scholar Diana Butler Bass joins Welton in studio to discuss her latest book, A [People's] History of Christianity: The Other Side of the Story.
And Welton pays tribute to newsman and Interfaith Alliance Honorary Chairman, Walter Cronkite.
